Hell and recreation

I’ve checked the Michigan State Parks reservation site, and the campground closest to Hell is full already this weekend. But Brighton State Recreation Area nearby still has openings (even for tonight), so that should work fine. In fact that should be a little better for getting back to the campsite after the Michigan Comics Network thing in Brighton Saturday night.

I just went to the DNR reservations web site to confirm that there were still unreserved sites available for tonight, and… the domain has expired. Somebody at the state neglected to pay the nominal fee for a dot-com, so the web site is inaccessible. I looked up the contacts for it, and sent e-mails to them to let them know, but odds are no one will check those accounts until Monday morning.

I didn’t realize there was an honest-to-Gosh Harley rally in Hell this weekend. I missed it by stopping there on Sunday morning (when I always heard the most about the place) so all I saw was the aftermath. To be fair they had cleaned up after themselves pretty well, with only a few stray empties.
