In college I knew someone from Coldwater. She complained that no one knew where it was, and assumed from the name that it was in the UP or somewhere else up north. In fact it’s not far from Indiana, here in Branch county. Pretty much in the middle of nowhere. 🙂
It’s a nice enough small town, I suppose. The downtown main street is refreshingly free of boarded up store fronts, though a few too many of them are accountants or insurance agents who don’t really need storefronts… but they’re apparently inexpensive here. The whole street is closed for business of course: it’s Sunday.
I saw a police car giving someone a speeding ticket on the way into town. I looped back to return to a park I’d passed and found the same cop giving someone else a ticket. A productive afternoon for her.
